Sanskrit Day

Our modern languages in India are the children of Sanskrit, and to it owe most of their vocabulary and their forms of expression.

National Public School Whitefield celebrated Sanskrit Day on Wednesday, 13 September 2023. Principal, Ms. Alka Gupta inaugurated the programme by lighting the lamp. In her address she reiterated on the significance of Sanskrit and the need to learn this ancient language. She also emphasised on the rich heritage it holds and urged students to respect and take pride in imbibing the culture and values of the Indian Culture.

The celebration commenced with the invocation song and thought for the day in Sanskrit. A well synchronised dance performance which depicted the story of Markandeya was the highlight of the event. Sanskrit riddles were conducted to enrich the imagination, language skills and problem-solving skills of the students.

Sanskrit day special programme was wholeheartedly praised by the audience as it focussed on creating awareness and promoting the language among the young learners.

The students and teachers of the Sanskrit department showcased that our ancient language is the reflection of ourselves, it depicts our character and above all the growth of its speakers.
