Sanskrit Day

Sanskrit Day was celebrated on 23 August 2019, and the theme was “Vasudaiva Kutumbakam”. All the components of the assembly were in pure Sanskrit. The melodious invocation set the mood for the assembly. The news definitely sounded different in Sanskrit, exclaimed the children!

The message of the ‘Thought’ was that, one needs to shed laziness for progress. Two very interesting facts were shared about Sanskrit, one was that India still has villages like Mattur, which use Sanskrit as the local language, and the other fact was that there are Sanskrit Newspapers in many hamlets of India.

The Quiz questions were taken from the Mahabharata, Panchatantra, and from the writings of “Varahamihira”. After the song rendered by the students of class 7, the students of class 6 danced to the devotional song ‘Gananayakaya Ganadaivakaya’ made popular by the famous singer Shankar Mahadevan. ‘The Mangala Stuti’, concluded the assembly of the morning.
